The cast and crew of The Lost Colony outdoor drama invite you to see America’s first and longest running outdoor symphonic drama, under the stars at historic Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island, near Manteo, NC.  The Lost Colony tells the exciting and tragic story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s attempts to settle the New World for England, from 1584-1587, and of the birth of Virginia Dare, the first English child born in America.

The mystery of The Lost Colony is told in drama, dance, song and special effects.  Performed near the very site of the colonists’ ill-fated settlement, the production recounts the actual historical events with the fictional story of the colonists’ spirit, courage and dream of freedom, a story that rings true today.
